Filtration mechanism and principle of stainless steel water filter element

Filtration mechanism of stainless steel filter element

1. Diffusion deposition: Due to Brownian motion, the trajectory of each fine particle is inconsistent with the direction of compressed air.As the particle size decreases, the intensity of Brownian motion increases, and the greater the chance of collision between fine particles and fibers, the stronger the diffusion and deposition effect.

2. Direct interception: This mechanism is related to the size of the particles. When the gap between the fibers is less than the diameter of the particles, the particles are intercepted.

3. Inertial deposition: When compressed air passes through the fiber, the streamline will bend.Due to inertia, the particles in the compressed air are thrown onto the fiber and deposited there instead of following the curved streamline.Obviously, this inertial effect will increase with the increase of particle size and the increase of the flow rate of compressed air.

4. Gravity deposition: All kinds of particles have a certain sedimentation rate due to gravity. Therefore, the trajectory of the particles deviates from the streamline of the compressed air, and this deviation can cause the particles to touch the fibers.5. Electrostatic deposition: Both particles and fibers may be charged. Therefore, due to the force and inductive force between the charges, particles can be deposited on the fibers.
